Ryan Alexander: Ten Months

Ryan by month 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9 //

Growing // I just weighed you a few days ago, and could it be true that you weigh nearly 22 lbs? That just doesn't seem right - could you really have gained 3 lbs in the past month? That seems like ALOT, but I suppose it could be true. You have been eating ALOT of food lately!

Eating + Sleeping // You are breastfeeding about 5/6 times a day and you are eating three meals a day plus snacks. In the morning we give you either oatmeal or eggs or yogurt in one of your pouches. For lunch it's either another pouch of some homemade stuff, a banana, rice cereal squares, cheese, a quesadilla, peas, etc. And for dinner you normally eat what we are having. You are a really great eater! It's hard for me to keep up with your food intake. You are still doing 3 naps a day, but I'm starting to think we should knock it down to just two and perhaps you would sleep for longer stretches at night. You are still waking up at least once in the night and maybe a few times throughout the night, but we just have to put your pacifier back in and you go right back to sleep. You go to sleep really easy, but you just wake up - same with your brother. Maybe we just need to wear you guys down more during the day!

Nicknames // Ry guy, ry guy bear, Ry ry.

Wearing // You are wearing 12 month clothes now! And you can fit into size 4 diapers - your brother and you can wear the same size diapers. That just blows my mind!

Loving // You absolutely love to laugh. You love being tickled and you love interacting with us. And you love watching your brother do just about anything! Like I said last month, you love to eat. And you especially love feeding yourself. You love when we sing to you - your whole face lights up! You love exploring the world around you.

Loathing // You loathe staying up past your bedtime. If you aren't in bed before 7, you make sure to let us know that you aren't a fan of the later bedtime. Truly though, you fuss until we get you in your pjs and until I feed you and put you in your bed, and as soon as you're in your bed, you go straight to sleep. It's incredible! Same thing goes when you want food, you fuss until you get it and as soon as you do, you're back to your normal happy self. It's pretty incredible to think that you have learned how to communicate your desires to us at 10 months old!

Doing // You are getting so close to crawling! You can go from your tummy to sitting and from your back to your tummy to sitting, and you can go from sitting to your tummy. You can do all the manuevers from one position to another, and you can do superman and planks, and occasionally you can get up on all fours but you then drop to your tummy and scoot backward! Eventually you'll get the hang of it! And you LOVE to stand right now. You can't pull yourself to stand, but if I put you in a standing position, you can hang on for dear life and remain standing! Sometimes you fall over and sometimes you don't.

Milestones // You still have just six teeth, but I know there are more coming through, and I've been on the lookout for more as you are drooling a ton! You are so strong and you rarely want to sit, you just want to stand and hold on for dear life so you don't fall down. You went into the nursery for the first time at church and you did AMAZING! Such a little rockstar. All the nursery ladies remarked on just how sweet you were. And you went to your first husky football game! Again, you were such a little rockstar. And it was so fun having you join in on our family tradition to the pumpkin patch - Jack picked out a little pumpkin for himself and for you. And this past month we got your passport photo taken for your first passport and for your first international flight to Ireland in December!
